I'm looking at ERS today. It gapped up slightly at the open and has been positive all day. The volume is showing green, how come the candle is painted red?

When the current daily price or close is lower than the opening price
the candle will be painted red. This is the case with the
stock ERS today.
Here is a quick tutorial:

I agree with the candle's color today - there was an anomolous 200 shares traded at 12.59 in the pre-market. However, when I wrote this, ERS had gapped up from the previous close and never went below the open. The candle should have been green all day.

Our data provider had the official opening price higher , so in those cases the
candle will be painted red.
